This is the BIG DADDY cousin to the Oskar's Knot 12 and Oskar's Knot 14 puzzles. Disassembly requires eight specific shifting moves in order to get the first piece out, and then another eight moves to get the next pieces out! From there, much more shifting is still needed to fully reduce this puzzle to a pile of 36 pieces.

Similar to Oskar's Knot 12, the assembly process for this puzzle starts by building up a base structure using a big-hole through small-hole and small-hole through big-hole pattern. As with the smaller versions of this puzzle, there are several key pieces which are modified versions of the standard big-hole and small-hole ones (of which there are many). Lots of planning ahead is required to make full use of the key pieces -- every one of them is required in a specific location so that it can do a specific job in the assembly process. All of those extra key-piece notches are there for a reason, and it's up to the dedicated puzzle solver to figure out why.

Standing a mere 1.5" tall, this small scale puzzle easily fits in your pocket or purse, and makes an excellent companion for long trips, boring meetings, or simply taking a break from whatever else you were busy working on. The flexible wooden pieces will happily take the abuse of being quickly thrown back into your pocket when your bus or boss suddenly arrives.

Pacific Puzzleworks proudly manufactures each puzzle from eco-friendly sustainably harvested cherry and maple veneer that is produced locally. We glue and press these super-thin veneer sheets together into our own high-quality 5-ply and 7-ply laminate products.
